Kyndal Walker leads St. John's to victory over Bethany

Recap: St. John's Cadets vs. Bethany Bronchos

The St. John's Cadets are ranked highly in their home state, and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Bethany Bronchos. St. John's took down Bethany 63-46. The win was just what St. John's needed coming off of a 73-48 loss in their prior matchup.

It was another big night for Kyndal Walker, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. Carolae Barton was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Several Bronchos players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keziah Lofton, who scored 24 points along with seven steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Lofton posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Zya Vann, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Bethany struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

St. John's has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Bethany, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.

St. John's will head out on the road to take on Bishop McNamara at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop McNamara is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games. As for Bethany, they will square off against Morris Catholic at 1:20 p.m. on Monday. Morris Catholic will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
