Basketball Recap: Boardman Piles Up the Points Against Mckinley

Boardman won the last time they faced McKinley and things went their way on Saturday too. The Boardman Spartans took their game with ease, bagging an 87-51 victory over the McKinley Red Dragons. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 23 points or more this season.

When it comes to explaining why McKinley lost, don't look at True Carey-Hardin. Despite the final result, he went 10 of 18 on his way to 28 points and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Avon Fryer, who posted ten points along with seven boards and three steals.

The win made it two in a row for Boardman and bumps their season record up to 8-5. As for McKinley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boardman will square off against Austintown-Fitch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McKinley has already played their next contest (against Poland Seminary), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
