Reynoldsburg had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Pickerington Central on Tuesday. The Raiders blew past the Tigers 3-0. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Reynoldsburg never let Pickerington Central on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 25-12.
Reynoldsburg found their leader in freshman Nimesh Biswa, who had six digs and three aces. Anthony Licea Acosta also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.
Reynoldsburg was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. They are 4-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Thursday. Westerville South walked away with a 3-1 win over Newark.
While Westerville South might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Newark scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 20-25, 25-21.
Westerville South now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Reynoldsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's game: Reynoldsburg has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Westerville South struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went Reynoldsburg's way against Westerville South when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Reynoldsburg made off with a 3-0 win.
