Soccer Game Preview: Hardeeville vs. May River

The Hardeeville Canes will head out on the road to challenge the May River Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hardeeville is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Denmark-Olar with a sharp 11-2 win on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Hardeeville considering their one-goal performance the match before.

Bluffton typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday May River proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bobcats, sneaking past 2-1.

Hardeeville pushed their record up to 8-10-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those five contests. As for May River, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Hardeeville suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to May River when the teams last played back in March. Can the Canes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
