Baseball Recap: Meadow Heights Comes Up Short

St. Vincent hit Meadow Heights with a five-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers fell just short of the Indians by a score of 6-4. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Braeden Hays put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI.

Hays wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caidyn Byrd, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Meadow Heights' loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for St. Vincent, they moved to 6-13 with that win, which also ended their eight-game losing streak.

As of now, neither Meadow Heights nor the Indians have any future games scheduled.
