Basketball Recap: St. Albans Red Dragons vs. Cabell Midland Knights
St. Albans was the 73-60 winner over Cabell Midland when they last played one another back in February of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Red Dragons took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights on Friday. The Red Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Marshall Summers produced another solid performance shooting 45% from the field to rack up 26 points and seven assists for Cabell Midland. Those seven assists gave Summers a new career-high. Ayden Spence was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.
St. Albans' loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Cabell Midland, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-3.
Coming up, St. Albans will square off against Spring Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cabell Midland, they and Buckhannon-Upshur will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
