Basketball Recap: William Penn Sets Scoring Season-High Against South Western

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask William Penn). They claimed a resounding 81-43 win over the South Western Mustangs. Given the Bearcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Mustangs are ranked 534th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

William Penn got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Yoziah Romero out in front who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nasir Barnes, who earned 14 points.

William Penn is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for South Western, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. William Penn will face off against Spring Grove at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for South Western, they will take on Red Lion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
