Marion has gone a perfect 10-0 against Herrin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Wildcats will welcome the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Marion is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Marion came out on top against Centralia on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Wildcats walked away with a 6-2 win over the Orphans. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 23, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Herrin narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Carbondale 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Herrin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter McCree, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Marion pushed their record up to 19-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Herrin, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.

Marion took their victory against Herrin in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 12-2 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
