Basketball Recap: East Gaston Takes a Loss

East Gaston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Highland Tech Rams, falling 44-22. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Reagan Lilja was East Gaston's leading scorer, having posted five points.

Highland Tech can attribute much of their success to Madeline Letts, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Butler, who scored eight points.

East Gaston's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Highland Tech, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-10.

East Gaston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-36 loss against Cherryville on the 29th. Highland Tech has also already played their next match (against Burns), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
