Bridgewater/Emery fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against the Irene/Wakonda Eagles by a score of 57-46 on Friday. This was payback for the Huskies, who suffered a 43-32 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the defeat, Irene/Wakonda had strong showings from Madison Orr, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds, and Emily Oien, who posted nine points and seven steals. The dominant performance also gave Orr a new career-high in shooting accuracy (75%). Ava George was another key player, putting up eight points.

Bridgewater/Emery's win bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Irene/Wakonda, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Bridgewater/Emery will face off against Colman-Egan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Colman-Egan will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something Bridgewater/Emery surely won't give up without a fight. As for Irene/Wakonda, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-45 win against Alcester-Hudson on the 24th.
