Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jarett Santiago and Evan Olmstead Lead American Fork to Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but American Fork had no problem doing just that on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Layton Lancers. The Cavemen not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 20th (when they won 3-0).

American Fork walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-23, 25-7, 26-24.

Leading American Fork to victory were Evan Olmstead and Jarett Santiago. Olmstead had ten digs and five assists, while Santiago had six digs, two aces, and one block. That's the most assists Olmstead has posted since back in March.

American Fork's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Layton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season.

American Fork will take on Westlake at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. The Thunder will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Cavemen surely won't give up without a fight. Layton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
