McClatchy came out on top against Chavez on Saturday thanks in part to Xavier Payne's efforts. Payne had seven kills and three aces. The performance also marked the most digs (two) he has had since back in February of 2025.

Payne and McClatchy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Laguna Creek at 5:30 p.m. on the 7th.
