Volleyball Recap: Cypress Springs Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Cypress Springs faced off against Cypress Woods on Friday. The Panthers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 3-0. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-17, 25-14.

Jayla Malone paced Cypress Springs' offense, picking up eight kills. Malone got some help from Alyssa Suarez and her 11 assists. Finally, Rayne Peavy and London Roche kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked three attacks.

Cypress Woods can attribute much of their success to Addison Gibson, who had ten digs and three aces.

Cypress Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 9-22. As for Cypress Woods, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 26-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cypress Springs will take on rival Cypress Park at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cypress Woods is set to square off against their familiar foe Cypress Ranch at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
