Basketball Recap: Emanuel County Institute's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Emanuel County Institute hadn't done well against Jenkins County recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs enjoyed a cozy 40-21 win over the Jenkins County War Eagles. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Jenkins County saw an underclassman step up: freshman Haley Newton posted five points and six rebounds.

Emanuel County Institute's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7. As for Jenkins County, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Emanuel County Institute didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 34-22 victory against Savannah on the 17th. As for Jenkins County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 55-25 defeat against Treutlen on the 16th.
