Softball Recap: Bruce Has No Trouble Against Charleston

With a playoff win on the line, Bruce rose to the challenge on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Charleston Tigers with a sharp 15-0 victory. Considering the Trojans have won eight matches by more than 11 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Leah Clark was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Addi Bailey, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Bruce and bumps their season record up to 13-11-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Charleston, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-11.

Looking ahead, Bruce will square off against East Union at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Urchins will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. Charleston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
