Kodie Young put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April of 2024 on Tuesday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

Young's strong effort led Portage over Merrillville and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
