Softball Recap: Citrus Hill Sets Scoring Season-High Against West Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Citrus Hill). They walked away with an 18-15 win over the West Valley Mustangs on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Tatum Pino was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Citrus Hill got a massive performance out of Danica Hess, who scored five runs while going 3-for-5. Julissa Sandoval was another key player, scoring four runs while going 2-for-5.

Citrus Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February of 2024.

Citrus Hill pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for West Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
