Baseball Game Preview: Hardin Hornets vs. Buna Cougars

The Hardin Hornets will face off against the Buna Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hardin will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Hardin will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Orangefield, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Hornets had just enough and edged out the Bobcats 6-5. That's two games straight that the Hornets have won by just one run.

Lleyton Berry made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Jayden Phelps was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kolten Bishop, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Buna, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on East Chambers with a sharp 7-1 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Hardin's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Buna, their win bumped their record up to 16-9-1.
