League recap: Ontario Christian tops Calvary Murrieta to extend winning streak

Ontario Christian extended the longest winning streak in Ambassador this week by beating Calvary Murrieta, 48-13. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

Ontario Christian moved up to 187 from 221 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 48-13 win over the Warriors helped Chris Stevens' team improve its standing.

Ryan Olson was the best wideout in the league this week as Western Christian fell to Linfield Christian. Olson tallied five receptions for 111 yards. Andrew Henry helped Western Christian's passing attack out by catching four balls for 37 yards.

Billy Dedich made the biggest impact on defense this week as Calvary Murrieta lost to the Knights. The sophomore recorded one fumble.

Craig Bruinsma put up the best numbers through the air as Ontario Christian beat Brad Schwab's team. He finished with a total of five completions for 85 yards and two touchdowns. Bruinsma's favorite target this week was Derek Van Leeuwen, who caught one pass for 30 yards.

Logan Wakefield was the most productive running back in Ambassador this week. He ran for 174 yards on 27 carries as the Lions fell to the Lions. Austin Hall also contributed to the rushing game with 28 yards on the ground.

Brad Hargis provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Western Christian fell to Linfield Christian. He completed 12 passes for 175 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 152 yards.

Ontario Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Bruinsma has thrown for 883 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Christian Dirksen has 15 catches for 364 yards. T. J. Spykstra leads the league in rushing with 881 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Kevin Oberlander's team takes on Aquinas. The Fighting Lancers are in second place, while the Falcons are in fourth place.

Aquinas led the league in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on Arrowhead Christian.
