Soccer Game Preview: Forrest vs. Cornersville

The Forrest Rockets will square off against the Cornersville Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Forrest is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.9 goals per game this season.

Forrest took a four-goal loss the last time they faced off against Cascade, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rockets had just enough and edged out the Champions 3-2 on Thursday. The game was the first time Forrest have beaten Cascade on their pitch since September 27, 2022.

Baeliy Stalnecker and Clara Jung scored all three of Forrest's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 60 goals.

Meanwhile, Cornersville entered their match against Culleoka on October 2nd without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bulldogs came up short against the Warriors, falling 6-2. Cornersville were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Forrest is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Cornersville, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-2-1.

Forrest couldn't quite get it done against Cornersville when the teams last played back in September of 2021 as they fell 2-0. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
