Baseball Game Preview: Upland Highlanders/Scots vs. Chino Hills Huskies

Upland and Chino Hills are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Highlanders/Scots will be playing at home against the Huskies at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Upland has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 3.

On Friday, Upland didn't have quite enough to beat Etiwanda and fell 3-2.

Issac Carlos was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Nick Serna and Dom Nava did some serious damage despite the final result: Serna went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Nava went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Chino Hills' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 6-3 to Rancho Cucamonga.

Chino Hills saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Hernandez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Chino Hills' loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Upland, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-20.
