Basketball Recap: Elyria Catholic Takes a Loss

Elyria Catholic was the 42-38 winner over Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Elyria Catholic Panthers took a 30-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Royals on Friday. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Elyria Catholic's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 10-4. As for Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.

Elyria Catholic and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Elyria Catholic (ranked 58th) will meet Beaumont School (ranked 542nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Similarly, Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy will take on Walsh Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday up 157 places (119 vs. 276).
