Baseball Recap: Atchison County Takes a Loss

Atchison County lost against Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy on Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-4 to the Ravens, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rance Vesser was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Riley Kesinger made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.

Atchison County's record is now 6-14. As for Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-8.
