Recap: North Central Panthers vs. Lawrence Central Bears
The North Central Panthers lost against the Lawrence Central Bears back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. North Central took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lawrence Central. While losing is never fun, North Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Lawrence Central is ranked first).
Despite the loss, North Central still got an impressive performance from Kaiden Kreinhagen, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Hoff, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Lawrence Central found their leader in underclassman Aniyah Mckenzie, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Jaylah Lampley was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
North Central has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Lawrence Central, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 21-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Central will take on Pendleton Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Pendleton Heights is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.4 points per game.
