Softball Recap: Bishop Kearney's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Bishop Kearney dropped their record down to 8-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Webster Schroeder Warriors by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Kings' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Webster Schroeder, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games.

For Webster Schroeder's part, the result came thanks to Liana DeValder's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 15 Ks. DeValder has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kinsley Keil was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base.

Bishop Kearney wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 22-0 win against Lima Christian on the 20th. Webster Schroeder does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
