Basketball Recap: Lebanon Takes a Loss

Lebanon was the 51-46 winner over Willard when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Lebanon Yellowjackets lost 83-58 to the Willard Tigers on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while the Tigers are ranked 45th).

When it comes to explaining why Lebanon lost, don't look at Blake Coffman. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 7 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison Howe, who posted nine points.

Lebanon is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9. As for Willard, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-5 record.

Lebanon will face off against Webb City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Webb City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Willard, they will challenge Nixa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nixa will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Willard surely won't give up without a fight.
