Baseball Game Preview: St. Edward Green Wave vs. Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish

For the second straight game, St. Edward will face off against Bishop McNamara. The Green Wave will welcome the Fightin' Irish at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Edward has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while Bishop McNamara will come in with five straight wins.

St. Edward fell victim to Bishop McNamara and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Fightin' Irish, falling 10-0.

For Bishop McNamara's part, Braylon Ricketts looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave Ricketts a new career-high.

At the plate, Jacob Lotz and Callahan O'Connor did most of the damage at the plate: Lotz went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while O'Connor went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Bishop McNamara always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Edward only posted an OBP of .176.

Bishop McNamara's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for St. Edward, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-20.
