Recap: Affton Cougars vs. Ritenour Huskies
It was a good run, but the Affton Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a hard 52-36 fall against Ritenour. Affton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ritenour apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Affton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Amelia Wilson, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Anna M daughtry who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals. Wilson hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Affton's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Ritenour, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Affton will look to defend their home court on Monday against Normandy at 4:30 p.m. Hopefully Affton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday. As for Ritenour, they will head out on the road to square off against Riverview Gardens at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
