Volleyball Recap: St. Stephens Takes a Loss

St. Stephens came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Maiden Blue Devils. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

While St. Stephens was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-13, 25-21.

Their offense was headlined by Ady McHenry and Addison Granger, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Addison Smith and her 12 assists.

St. Stephens' defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Maiden, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Stephens will head out to face off against Newton-Conover at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Maiden, they will challenge Bandys at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
