Recap: Boulder Panthers vs. Arvada West Wildcats

The Boulder Panthers were the 51-33 winner over the Arvada West Wildcats when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Boulder took a 66-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arvada West on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Boulder's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lake Smith, who scored 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Kyle Blauch, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.

Jordan Stremel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Arvada West, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Keegen Balistreri was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Boulder's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Arvada West, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Boulder and Rock Canyon will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Arvada West will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fort Collins at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Fort Collins is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
