Volleyball Recap: Nucla Has No Trouble Against Dove Creek

While Nucla didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Dove Creek Bulldogs on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Mustangs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 23rd (when they won 3-0).

While Nucla won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-21, 26-24.

Maggie Andrews was the offensive standout of the game as she had 18 digs. Those 18 digs gave her a new career-high.

Nucla's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 7-4. As for Dove Creek, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Nucla has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Monticello on the 11th. As for Dove Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Ignacio on the 20th.
