La Marque had won two straight games and Cory Hosea did his part to make it three on Friday. The Cougars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wharton Tigers 36-6 for which the team can thank Hosea, who rushed for 267 yards and four scores while picking up 10.7 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run.
La Marque's record now sits at 5-1. As for Wharton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. La Marque will take on rival Harmony School of Innovation at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Wharton is set to face off against their familiar foe the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
