Softball Preview: Rock Hill Bearcats vs. Fort Mill Yellow Jackets

Rock Hill is 0-10 against Fort Mill since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the pair will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. Rock Hill will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

While Rock Hill has not struggled against Spring Valley recently, they managed to flip the script last Thursday. Rock Hill blew past Spring Valley 12-4. The win was just what Rock Hill needed coming off of a 12-6 defeat in their prior contest.

Meanwhile, Fort Mill was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 19-3 defeat at the hands of Blythewood.

Vicki Lott and Emily Poteat stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lott went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI, while Poteat went 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and a double. Brooke Roserio was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Rock Hill's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Fort Mill, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Rock Hill suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Fort Mill in their previous meeting back in March.
