Softball Recap: Rivera Triumphs

While Rivera's win against Donna wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Raiders skirted past the Redskins 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Redskins: they've now won four in a row.

Danna Ramirez was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tiffany Garza, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Rivera was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are 9-4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Rivera's win bumped their record up to 10-13-1. As for Donna, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-15-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Rivera is set to square off against their familiar foe Porter at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Donna will challenge rival Pace at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
