Volleyball Recap: Wauwatosa West Trojans vs. Brookfield East Spartans
If Wauwatosa West was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of West Allis Hale on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans came up short against the Brookfield East Spartans on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
The final score came out to 25-9, 25-15, 25-13.
Josie Schwake paced Wauwatosa West's offense, picking up four kills. Schwake were helped by Kate Koenigs and Cora Eisenmann, who contributed three assists each. Finally, Natalie McCabe kept Wauwatosa West's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.
Wauwatosa West's loss dropped their record down to 19-14. As for Brookfield East, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 36-9 record this season.
After both having extra time off, Wauwatosa West and Watertown will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brookfield East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
