The Carroll Tigers will challenge the Miller Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Carroll is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to King for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-14 win. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Carroll's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braylen Swanson, who picked up 91 receiving yards and two scores. The team also got some help courtesy of Cesar Morales, who rushed for 83 yards and one touchdown.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Carroll proved: they limited King to a paltry two yards per carry. The team can thank Aiden Ben-David for the heroic effort on defense: he. Carroll's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.5 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 7.07 on average over their last five games.
Carroll didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Roman Nino and Gavin Saenz. Another thorn in King's side was Ben-David, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 13 total tackles.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Miller, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-17 win over Corpus Christi Moody. The Buccaneers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since November 22, 2024 (when they won 59-6).
Miller's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Carroll, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Carroll was dealt a bruising 59-7 loss at the hands of Miller in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Tigers, Trevor Long (who threw for 310 yards and six TDs while completing 75% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
