Softball Recap: Parrish Community Beats Mitchell for Their Eighth Straight Win

It's playoff time, and Parrish Community had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Mitchell Mustangs 3-1. Three seems to be a good number for the Bulls as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Emmaline Van Beck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Parrish Community's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kyndal France, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

The win (which was Parrish Community's eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Mitchell, they moved to 19-10 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Parrish Community nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
