Basketball Recap: Iola Takes a Loss

Iola lost against Burlington back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Iola Mustangs took a 68-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burlington Wildcats. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Iola still got an impressive performance from Cortland Carson, who went 12 of 25 on his way to 31 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Bauer, who posted eight points and seven assists.

Iola now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Burlington, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Iola will be playing in front of their home fans against Prairie View at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Iola is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season. As for Burlington, they will venture away from home to face off against Wellsville on Friday. Wellsville will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Burlington surely won't give up without a fight.
