Second Baptist found their leader in sophomore Eloise Tackett, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. The game was Tackett's sixth in a row with at least 17 points. Grace Wehring was another key player, putting up 12 points along with five boards and five steals.
Second Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Legacy Prep Christian Academy on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Fort Bend Christian Academy out of the water with a 67-25 final score. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Second Baptist better focus on containing Charlotte Freeman and Madison Wilson as the pair were huge in Legacy Prep Christian Academy's win. Freeman almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Wilson went 6-for-15 on her way to 13 points and four steals. Freeman is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Caitlin Wilson, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.
Legacy Prep Christian Academy pushed their record up to 27-3 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Second Baptist, their win bumped their record up to 17-10.
Keep an eye on the arc in Saturday's contest: Second Baptist has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 34.2% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Legacy Prep Christian Academy, though, as they've only made 24.7% of their three-pointers this season. Given Second Baptist's sizable advantage in that area, Legacy Prep Christian Academy will need to find a way to close that gap.
Second Baptist didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Legacy Prep Christian Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2019, but they still walked away with a 54-48 victory.
