Volleyball Recap: Winn Comes Up Short

Winn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Jay Mustangs, falling 3-0. The Mavericks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-10, 25-9.

Jay found their leader in freshman Izabella Pulido, who had seven digs and six aces. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Pulido.

Winn's loss dropped their record down to 9-21. As for Jay, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Winn will challenge rival Southside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Jay is set to square off against their familiar foe Southwest Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
