Softball Recap: Dixie County Takes a Loss

Dixie County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Lafayette Hornets, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 back in March.

Dixie County's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Lafayette, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Coming up, Dixie County will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Bronson at 7:00 p.m. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Lafayette, they are taking a road trip to square off against Madison County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cowboys' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
