Softball Recap: Thunderbird Adventist Academy Falls to Paradise Valley Christian Prep in First Game of Season

Thunderbird Adventist Academy had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Paradise Valley Christian Prep Panthers, falling 22-7. Thunderbird Adventist Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Paradise Valley Christian Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2017.

Thunderbird Adventist Academy saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mack McCoy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave McCoy a new career-high. Lissle Cordova was another, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Even though they lost, Thunderbird Adventist Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paradise Valley Christian Prep only posted a batting average of .318.

The win made it two in a row for Paradise Valley Christian Prep and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coincidentally, Thunderbird Adventist Academy and Paradise Valley Christian Prep will both be playing Gila Bend the next time they take the field. Thunderbird Adventist Academy will head out to face Gila Bend at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Paradise Valley Christian Prep will host them at 7:00 p.m. on March 6th.
