Baseball Recap: Mound-Westonka Falls to New Ulm in First Game of Season

Mound-Westonka unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 6-3 to the New Ulm Eagles on Tuesday. The White Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Mound-Westonka saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Kraay, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Looking ahead, Mound-Westonka will square off against Benilde-St. Margaret's at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Ulm, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-2 victory against Waseca on the 10th.
