Baseball Game Preview: Donna Redskins vs. Harlingen South Hawks

Donna is 0-4 against Harlingen South since February of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Redskins will venture away from home to square off against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m.

Things were looking good for Donna after they put the first runs on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Weslaco East, falling 11-2. The Redskins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jimenez Alan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Harlingen South posted their closest victory since March 11th on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Veterans Memorial, sneaking past 6-5.

Harlingen South saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aundr? Guadarrama, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Guadarrama has posted since back in March of 2024. Nick Garza was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Harlingen South is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Donna, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Donna came up short against Harlingen South when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 5-2. Can the Redskins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
