Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Lafayette lost against Jamestown back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rams took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Lafayette started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-14, 25-21, 25-20.

Lynley Cannon paced Lafayette's offense, picking up ten kills. Cannon got some help from Laurel Bray and her 28 assists. Emmerson Dodson controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Kira Van Deusen produced another solid performance getting 17 digs and two aces for Jamestown. Van Deusen has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more digs the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Peyton Tilley, who had 22 assists and three digs.

Lafayette's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Jamestown, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Coming up, Lafayette will welcome Gloucester at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jamestown, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Bruton on the 20th.
