Basketball Recap: Unity Reed Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Unity Reed extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They fell 56-44 to the Osbourn Park Yellowjackets. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

As for Osbourn Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points over those games.

Osbourn Park got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aiden Churchner out in front who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Trevor Okeoma, who posted five points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.

Looking ahead, Unity Reed and Freedom will face off at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. The Lions will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 71 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Osbourn Park, they will be home for the holidays to greet Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
