Basketball Recap: Marble Falls Comes Up Short

Marble Falls had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 2-6 to make it four. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 41-40 to the Fredericksburg Billies. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Billies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

As for Fredericksburg, their record now sits at 6-2. The 41-point effort marked their lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Among those leading the charge was Yair Hernandez, who posted eight points and four steals. Gage Bryant was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Coming up, Marble Falls will take on Greenwood in a tournament on Thursday. As for Fredericksburg, they will be taking part in a tournament against Austin Prep Academy at 10:20 a.m. on Thursday. The Billies will need to watch out since the Avengers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
