Volleyball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Sweetwater

Sweetwater waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Liberty Charter Lions. For the Red Devils, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.

Sweetwater never let Liberty Charter on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-22.

Jaeden Brown paced Sweetwater's offense, picking up eight kills. Brown got some help from Sergio Salazar and his 19 assists. Darren Thong controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Sweetwater's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Liberty Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Sweetwater wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Escondido on the 28th. As for Liberty Charter, they will welcome Hilltop at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
