Football Recap: Hoquiam Victorious + How To Watch

Hoquiam's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They snuck past the Toutle Lake Ducks with a 44-40 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Grizzlies considering their seven-point performance the contest before.

Hoquiam found their leader in freshman Kj McCoy, who threw for 150 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Toutle Lake lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Austin Webber, who picked up 105 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 151 yards while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Jamison Shelb was another key player, throwing for 230 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 passes.

Hoquiam now has a winning record of 3-2-1. As for Toutle Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Hoquiam will look to defend their home field on Friday against Montesano at 7:00 p.m. The Grizzlies will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups. As for Toutle Lake, they will welcome Mossyrock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Ducks will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
