Preview: Walden Grove Red Wolves vs. Northwest Christian Crusaders
Two dominant signal callers in Gabriel Smith and Evan Tarasenko are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Walden Grove Red Wolves will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Northwest Christian Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on November 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Walden Grove is ranked 54th, while Northwest Christian is ranked 36th).
Last Friday, Walden Grove came up short against Canyon del Oro and fell 21-9. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Walden Grove in their matchups with Canyon del Oro: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite a strong season so far, Northwest Christian has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They lost to Yuma Catholic at home by a decisive 24-10 margin on Friday.
Ben Lueders put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
The losses dropped Walden Grove to 6-4 and Northwest Christian to 8-2.
Walden Grove came up short against Northwest Christian in their previous meeting back in August, falling 38-26. Can Walden Grove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
